COBE is a progressive and contemporary community of architects that focuses on architecture and design – from buildings and public spaces to large scale urban planning. As part of the newly-opened COBE solo exhibition at the Danish Architecture Centre, and alongside the publishing of their new book Our Urban Living Room, we took the challenge of working together with our friends there to bridge scale and design a tactile, architecture-inspired product series which supports the scope of the exhibition. As Our Urban Living Room refers to the extension of the personal sphere into the cityscape, we found it interesting to try to bring the the city back into the living room. The collection is inspired by the materials and the DNA of the COBE-designed building Forfatterhuset, a kindergarten with a unique brick cladding and green roof gardens. With this in mind, we have designed 3 simple objects for everyday use; a small bowl, a flower pot, and a vase, each of which are reminiscent of the city and the opportunities that exist out there.
