A modular pendant suspension system
Dependant is a suspension system for pendant lamps that allow the user to arrange clusters of pendant lamps either in a line or a circle. The system consists of canopies, arms and joints that comes in a polished brass finish or powdercoated white or black.
The goal was to in an effortless way control the cables of the pendant lamps, while creating a product that visually wouldn’t compete with a cluster of lamps. By creating a modular system a large number of configurations could be created out of a relatively small number of components. The form of the canopies are either circular or oblong, referring to the arrangement of the lamps below, letting the wire run the shortest and simplest route possible.
The Danish design studio Kilo Design has created a suspension system, a modular system that can be used and customised for different applications. The system is designed to complement and suspend various types of Louis Poulsen e-socket pendant designs, enabling everyone to make outstanding pendant lighting clusters.
